Jesse Eisenman, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist who is well-loved by those in his community. He treats patients at Eisenman & Eisenman, M.D., Advanced Gastro Consultants, at its convenient Lake Worth, Florida, office. In his practice, he enjoys treating all general gastro cases and he has a particular interest in screening colonoscopies and abdominal pain.
Dr. Eisenman graduated from the University of Delaware in Newark, in 1980, with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and an induction into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He earned his medical degree in 1984 from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed a residency in internal medicine at St. Louis University Hospital, during which time he was an active member of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Eisenman went on to the University of Florida Health Science Center in Jacksonville to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology. While he was there, he conducted clinical and pharmaceutical research concerning chronic esophagitis and type II histamine blockade. Immediately after finishing his fellowship, Dr. Eisenman moved to South Florida in 1989 and established a private practice of Gastroenterology in West Palm Beach..
He is board-certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology. He is also an active member of the Florida Gastroenterology Society
Richard Eisenman, MD, is Board Certified and a highly respected gastroenterologist working with patients at Eisenman & Eisenman, M.D., Advanced Gastro Consultants in Lake Worth, Florida. He maintains a specialized interest in advanced endoscopic procedures.
Dr. Eisenman graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Delaware in Newark, where he played on the college soccer team. After graduation, he immediately began medical school at Thomas Jefferson University’s Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia, earning his medical degree in 1987.
Dr. Eisenman began his postgraduate training with an internship and residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, during which time he actively pursued endoscopic research of pneumatic dilation in achalasia.
He went on to pursue a fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago in 1990, focusing on gastroenterology, advanced endoscopic techniques, and biliary techniques. There, he completed case reports and investigational studies in biliary ascariasis, porcine bile stability, biliary manometry, and an in-vitro biliary stent occlusion model.
After finishing his fellowship in 1993, Dr. Richard Eisenman headed to Florida to join his brother, Dr. Jesse Eisenman, in private practice. Together, they established Eisenman & Eisenman M.D.
Y. Joseph Usta, MD, was born in Iowa City, Iowa, and raised in Aramco, on an American compound in Dhahran Saudi Arabia. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona in Molecular and Cellular Biology prior to graduating from medical school at the American University of Beirut. He completed a year of pancreatic cell transplant research at Emory University in Atlanta GA, before relocating to Phoenix, Arizona where he completed his Internal Medicine training at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center. He then went on to complete his Fellowship in Gastroenterolgy and Hepatology at the University of Arizona - Banner Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Over the years, Dr. Usta served as an Assistant Professor for both the University of Arizona and Creighton Medical School.
He was recognized by the American College of Physicians (ACP) as a "Rising Star". He presented an abstract to the 2015 American College of Gastroenterology's (ACG) Annual Scientific Meeting, on his clinical research on the association between Barrett's Esophagus and Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam Veterans. He was selected as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine and again selected to be Chief Fellow in Gastroenterology during his training career.
Presently, Dr. Usta gives lectures to medical students and residents at Wellington Reginal Medical Center. He plans to become more involved in the Palm Beach County Medical Society. He is currently taking online courses at Standford University on quantum physics for fun.
Dr. Usta is trained in all general GI procedures including Upper Endoscopy (EGD), Colonoscopy, and Capsule Endoscopy. He has a specific interest in esophageal disorders including, Gastroesophageal Reflux (GERD), swallowing difficulties (Dysphagia), and Barrett’s Esophagus. He is interested in studying Esophageal Acidity (pH) and Esophageal Pressures (Manometry). He also has extensive training in liver diseases (Hepatology) and is very comfortable taking care complex liver diseases including and not limited to hepatitis, cirrhosis, and fatty liver.
José Meléndez MD, specializes in gastroenterology and offers cutting-edge treatments for all types of GI issues. He welcomes new and existing patients to Eisenman & Eisenman, M.D., Advanced Gastro Consultants in Lake Worth, Florida.
Dr. Meléndez earned his bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Puerto Rico in Humacao, Puerto Rico. He then completed his Doctor of Medicine at Ponce Health Sciences University in Ponce, Puerto Rico. After graduation, Dr. Meléndez relocated to the United States for further training.
He completed his residency training at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to gaining extensive experience in internal medicine and becoming board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he received several scholarships, including the prestigious Mayo International Health Program Scholarship Award.
To build on his knowledge, Dr. Meléndez completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida, where he was exposed to a great variety of gastrointestinal conditions and procedures.
Dr. Meléndez maintains multiple professional affiliations to help him stay abreast of the latest gastroenterology research and medical treatments. He has affiliations with the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Florida Gastroenterologic Society, among others.
Patients of Dr. Meléndez appreciate his attention to detail and willingness to explain their conditions and all possible treatment avenues. Dr. Meléndez is fluent in both English and Spanish and is dedicated to helping patients who may struggle with language barriers.
